Day 18- Bye Cruise. OLA Three GORGES!

Rise and Shine! When I first wake up, I saw the last gate of the Dam open. Whoa! The scenery of the river was so beautiful when the ship step out off the gates. The process of opening the gates took us 6hours. I woke up around 5.30am as we need to pack all our stuff and get ready for breakfast. I was sad to leave the Cruise as this is one of my most memorable Cruise I had. This cruise have brought me to places that I thought I could not have gone too. FULL OF MEMORISE!! :’(

BYE BYE CRUISE!

After having the same old pathetic and tasteless breakfast, we going are head out of the cruise. After the last glance of the Cruise, I when up a long stairs and went straight to my Tour Bus. The tour bus is going to THREE GORGES DAM!! Finally I can see the massive structure with my own bare eyes. On the bus, the tour guide told us rules and regulation when the entering the Three Gorges Dam. I think almost everyone wasn’t listening because they was too busy sleeping. HAHA!

Line Up People...

FINALLY WE REACHED!! When I step out of the bus, each one was given a ticket in order for us to enter to the Famous Three Gorges Dam. The entrance of the Three Gorges was so crowded and they all are lining up to enter to the Three Gorges. After a long wait, we enter. There will be a Tour bus that is going to bring us around the place. The Tour Bus is going to bring us to 3 different places around the Three Gorges.

The first Place i GO!

Nice THREE GORGES model.

That's a "Small" Book

Overview of the Dam Area.Power Plant!
Cute Park! Can you See the DAM?!
The first place that we are heading is getting to know the Architecture of the dam and the overview of the place. When we get off the bus, the Tour Guide brought us to the Three Gorges Project Model Room. The tour guide explains to us the size of the Three Gorges Dam. The axial length of the dam is 2309.47m, the crest height is 185m, and the total capacity of the reservoir reaches 39.3billion m³. The Three Gorges Hydropower Plant (TGHP) contains 26 turbine-generator units, each with installed capacity of 700MW. It is expected annual average power generation accounts up to 100TWH. TGHP electricity is sent unceasingly to East and central China. That’s small part of the story that is being told by the Tour guide. There is a full size model of the Three Gorge in the Model Room. I can’t wait to take a look at the REAL structure. After the story telling, we all went out from the Model Room, we finally can see the marvellous Three Gorges Dam. It is SUPER BIG and I can’t believe it that I am staring on one of the biggest man-made structure on earth now. UNBELIEVEABLE! My group and I walk around the place and there is a lot of Unique Structure all over this place. We as a group went up a stone structure that needs us to climb up the staircase. When we reach at the top, we can see the overview of the whole place such us the power plant, the Three Gorges Dam and many more.

Come On People ride the Tour Bus! Next Stop is ....
This the Second Place i GO!
WHAT A DAM!!
After getting to know more about how the Three Gorges being made and the history of the Dam, the second place that we going to visit is the close view of the Three Gorges Dam. We took another Tour Bus that is going us to the place. It only took us less than 10 minutes to reach to the place. When we finally reach the place, the Three Gorges Dam is just in front of our faces. The Three Gorges Dam is just a few metres from me but I can’t get closer from where I am now because there is barrier that prevents people from crossing over. The only thing that I can do is to take picture with it. We only had given less than 15minutes to explore around the place.

The Third Place i GO! This is Machinery Park!

What A BULLdozer!

That's a big Scope

Turn that Pipe!

After the 15minutes have run out, we need to go to our last destination. We went to a park that exhibits the machine and equipment use to create the Dam. There is so many type of equipments and machines use to create this marvellous structure but in this exhibitions it only showcase certain equipment or machines due to the size of the park. When we were exploring the park, there is 3 type of bulldozer that is being showcase and it is much larger than I what use to see. This type of machines is use when it needs to create big structure such as the Dam. There is also an indoor theatre to watch how the Dam is being created and to show how much hard works is being put in to create the Dam. The overview of the whole is very nice and from this park, we can take look at the whole Three Gorges Dam being stretch over the whole width of the land. One think I going to miss is that, I can’t watch and experience when the Dam open up the gates and let the water rush out. The whole experience of just looking at the Dam is one the best experience and the most memorable chapter of my life.

HALAL Fried Chicken!

The last part of our journey was going to hotel to have our lunch. There is table set for the Muslim students and on that table there is NO PORK. I can finally have my lunch in peace as I do not need to ask my friends which dish have pork in it. After finishing the last piece of food on the table, we going return back HOME! (Dormitory) YEHH!!!

Cool Structure!

Reflection
The whole trip has been breath-taking. There is so much to look at and experience. I have tried out thing which I NEVER tried before. Having a chance to look at the one of the world biggest structure, i feel very honoured and I will cherish moment for the rest of my life. The workers at the Three Gorges Dam are very friendly and they willing to help anyone if there is anything you are not unsure off. I have gain lots of knowledge after going to many different type of places. I will share this experience with my friends back home and pass this amazing knowledge to them.
