Day 9- Furnace here we come! Aloha IS!

There are a lot of activities that is being conducted today. The whole group of students is going to One of the biggest iron & steel manufacturing plant in Wuhan. The manufacturing plant is called Wu Gang steel group manufacturing company.

Assemble Outside Class with our HELMET!

The Bus that taking us to the Manufacturing plant.

We have to meet up at the classroom at 8.10a.m!! It is so freaking early. All of us need to collect the helmet from at the administration office and assemble at the ground level as there transportation provided for us to go the manufacturing plant. The helmet needed to be worn as it will protect our head from getting hit by a hard object.

WOAH! That's Huge!

It took us 40min to reach the manufacturing plant. During the journey I saw many factories and manufacturing plant all around Wuhan. Wuhan is known to be leading suppliers of iron & steel and the trading ports around this region are superb. There manufacturing plant at Wuhan is 10times much bigger than in Singapore as there have a large land area to build this factories and plant.

My Tour Guide

2 by 2 Please! And Please wear your helmet.

We finally have reached the manufacturing plant. All of us need to wear our helmets when we step out of the bus for safety purposes. There is a tour guide that is going to bring us into the manufacturing plant. He will be explaining to everyone about how the Wu Gang steel group manufacturing company came about and the processes of making the steel. The bad thing about this that he can only speak Chinese! I need my friends, Si Hao to translate in English for me to understand what the tour guide is speaking about.

Completed!
The Wu Gang Factory originated from Japan during the Japanese occupation. After the Japanese occupation the Chinese took over the manufacturing plant and make it successful and make the production of the steel much better. When it first started all the process is manually done and there is no artificial intelligence to do the work. Nowadays, all the manufacturing of steel is done by machines and it have made the process much easier and smoother and lesser man power in needed. The production of Steel in China is getting more recognise as they still have the resources to make production of steel but Japan and Korea have stop production due the lack of resources. Steel is known as “black money”. Each cost up to a few billions and the cost can be recovered after 1-2 years. It is a good business to manufacture Iron and steel as it generate a lot of profit. The steel are use to produce cars, bridges, building and many more.
After the trip, we can go back to our room to rest first before we go for our IS lecture class. I entertain myself in the room by playing games and dart. It’s nice to relax yourself after a long trip as it can clam your mind and get ready for the next tasks.

IS lecture teacher.

IS lecture Class. ALL look tired

i went to the IS lecture class at 2p.m. The lecture teacher that’s taught us is a China teacher which can speak good English. We are going to learn about the Overview of China’s history, politics and economy. It is an interesting module as we are lean about a country that is rich with history and we can see the difference China and Singapore. The lecture is class is 3 hours long and the teacher can explain clearly any question that’s been thrown to her. I was impressed as she can explain it in proper English. The teacher has taught a lot of things today and I can’t absorb everything in my head. She allows us to bring back the slides in order for us to read. I really need to go back and read all the slides and fully understand it. After the lesson, i rest in my room and sleep. :D

Reflection
I have learnt of many things today. The first I learn about the different type of process needed to create the iron and steel. It is a tedious process to create the iron and steel and a lot of hard work is being put in to just create a piece of steel. I really respect all the workers that work in the manufacturing of iron and steel as they have did a great job in making a perfect steel for everyone to use. Secondly, during IS lecture class I have learnt about the history of China and the political system. China has really strict rules and regulation that need to be followed and this have make China very phosphorus. That it’s all for today and tomorrow there will be another outing. Keep on reading my blog.
